The wind came from nowhere. Ian Evans barely noticed it at first, as he huddled inside the tent at race headquarters, just before 11pm on Saturday.
By then, he’d been running for 42 hours and 150km, surviving temperatures that hit 30 degrees, and vicious terrain that had long ago destroyed all other competitors.
