This 1978 contemporary that was the longtime country house of master builder John Tishman, whose company transformed the skylines of several major American cities, has just emerged from an 18-month renovation and update.
An heir to the company founded by his grandfather Julius in 1898, John Tishman supervised the construction of three of the world’s earliest 100-story-plus skyscrapers—the John Hancock Center, which was completed in 1970, and the twin towers of the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan, completed in 1973.
Some of Tishman Realty and Construction Company’s other landmarks include Madison Square Garden in New York, Century City in Los Angeles, the Renaissance Center in Detroit and the Epcot theme park at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., according to published reports.
