ON the day that Buckingham Palace announce the death of the Prince Philip, aged 99, we take a trip down memory lane to 1957 when the Duke of Edinburgh and Her Majesty the Queen stopped off in Kidderminster as part of their royal tour.
On St George’s Day, Tuesday April 23, the Queen and Prince Philip came to the village as the starting point for her royal tour of the West Midlands, which included Kidderminster, Hagley, Halesowen and Stourbridge.
