A ‘growing propensity for violence’: Using photos from US Capitol insurrection, Boston’s Anti-Defamation League identified New England extremists, but it wasn’t easy

On Jan. 6, thousands of people stormed the U.S. Capitol building, some of them from Massachusetts. Now residents and organizations from New England are working to help the FBI identify people through photos.
“We need to just recognize that even in blue Massachusetts, there are people who hold these views, and there is a growing propensity for violence,” said Robert Trestan, executive director of the Anti-Defamation League’s Boston office. “And that’s what we saw in January.”
