$59M settlement addresses 1800s Ojibwe land grabs in Minnesota and North Dakota

The Pembina Band of Chippewas — whose descendants today include members of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa and White Earth Band of Ojibwe — were forced to sign away millions of acres of land, some for 10 cents an acre. A settlement offers additional compensation.
