ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) —Nearly 10 cars from a Norfolk Southern train derailed in Roanoke early Wednesday morning.
According to Jeff DeGraff, a spokesperson for Norfolk Southern, at 2:15 a.m., a train leaving the Roanoke rail yard derailed nine cars near Randolph Street.
Personnel and contractors are on scene to assess the damage and have begun uprighting and removing the cars.
