Former New York firefighter Robert Beckwith has died at the age of 91. Beckwith became famous for a photo taken with then US President George W. Bush after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 in New York. The photo shows the then-president with a megaphone in his right hand, his left arm draped over firefighter Beckwith's shoulders. Former President Bush said he was "proud" to have had Beckwith at his side back then. "His courage represented the bold, resilient spirit of New Yorkers and Americans after 9/11," Bush said.
