After three cases of COVID-19 were confirmed, Eagle View Elementary School moved all of its 7th graders to online learning for two weeks.
The soft closure for the grade began on Wednesday, according to a news release. Parents and guardians were notified of the transition on Tuesday.
Based on contract tracing, the Uintah School District believes the outbreak is isolated to the 7th grade, which only has 33 students enrolled.
Uintah School District stated it's following existing guidance from the state of Utah regarding what constitutes a COVID-19 outbreak in a classroom. In this instance, the “7-day test and return” protocol does not apply, the press release stated.
