600 families in India's Uttarakhand to be evacuated over cracks in houses

Authorities in India's Uttarakhand have ordered immediate evacuation of nearly 600 families from their houses that have developed huge cracks in Joshimath town and faces a serious threat of land subsidence reportedly due to unplanned infrastructure development in an environmentally-fragile area.
