The Iron County Sheriff's Office says a 50-year-old man was killed in a snowmobile accident on Saturday night.
The sheriff's office says around 11:15 Saturday night they received a report of an unconscious male lying on Old Highway 61 in the Town of Mercer.
The sheriff's office says they received further information the man was driving his snowmobile with a group, and had been thrown from it in the roadway.
He was said to be unconscious, but breathing.
When emergency personnel arrived on scene, the man stopped breathing, the sheriff's office says.
Lifesaving measures were attempted, but unsuccessful.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not released.
