Four Colorado Front Range shelters are now full of Siberian huskies after an overwhelmed breeder surrendered 50 purebreds this past week.
The huskies are in relatively good health, but are under-socialized and will require some behavior support before they are ready to be placed up for adoption, according to The Dumb Friends League, which took in 13 of the 50 huskies.
The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak is looking after nine of the huskies, meanwhile the Pueblo region is caring for five.
"Our first priority is to earn their trust with kindness, comfort, and much-needed rest," said the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, which also took in eight of the huskies.
