Today is Friday, March 5, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County:

State of the County Address:  County Executive Marc Elrich will deliver his prerecorded “State of the County” address at 11 a.m. today on the anniversary of the first reported cases of COVID-19 in the county and the state. Watch the address on County Cable Montgomery—Channel 6 and HD 996 on Comcast; Channel 6 and HD 1056 on RCN; and Channel 30 on Verizon. The address will also be streamed on the county Facebook page.

Small Business Town Hall:  Montgomery County’s COVID-19 Economic Revitalization and Recovery program will hold a virtual town hall meeting at noon on Friday to discuss a new, county-sponsored initiative to offer legal advice to local businesses amid the pandemic. The meeting will be broadcast on Microsoft Teams, as well as on County Cable Montgomery and Facebook.
