5 Illegal brick kilns fined in Kurigram

A mobile court at Rajibpur upazila in Kurigram has fined five illegal brick kilns Tk 16.50 lakh today.
Mahmudul Hasan, assistant commissioner and executive magistrate of Kurigram deputy commissioner's office, conducted the daylong drive and imposed the fine for running business without licenses.
The brick kilns are ADB brick kiln, MAB brick kiln, Number One brick kiln, AHB brick kiln and '777' brick kiln, he said.
Mahmudul Hasan told the journalists that the aforementioned five brick kilns came under the fines for illegally manufacturing bricks by procuring the top soil from agricultural land and for burning bricks on agricultural land.
