At least 43 Immigration officers have been relieved from their duties after being linked to the “outbound pastillas” scam, which was allegedly connected to the trafficking of Filipinos women to Syria.
This was disclosed by Bureau of Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente during the continuation of Senate inquiry on the trafficking of Filipinos to Syria.
“The immigration officers about 43 of them…these people, including the others were already relieved from their post. That’s the action that I can take,” Morente said, noting the investigation report submitted by the fact-finding committee he created.
