In 1987, director Joel Schumacher (who'd go on to give us 1995's "Batman Forever,") brought audiences the cult classic horror comedy "The Lost Boys." Not to be confused with the Lost Boys of J.M. Barrie's "Peter Pan," this story revolves around a group of teenage vampires living in a small beach town known as Santa Carla.
The film begins with a mother and her two teenage sons moving to live with her father in a California beach town called Santa Carla. The eldest son, Michael, becomes intoxicated by a woman he meets on the boardwalk named Star, who's connected to the mysterious leader of a biker gang, David. Michael, in order to pursue Star, follows the biker gang and is initiated into their group, unknowingly becoming a half-vampire. Michael's younger brother Sam soon realizes this, as Michael is semi-transparent in mirrors, is sensitive to light and develops a sudden thirst for blood. This leads Michael and Sam to try to turn Michael, as well as the other half-vampires, back into humans by killing the group's leader.
