PorchFest
A clever and new one-night music festival. Set for 6 – 9 p.m. May 8, PorchFest presents live performances by more than a dozen local and regional acts, held on the porches of five Pratt Avenue homes (addresses 1014, 1104, 1207, 1312 and 1402 Pratt Ave.) in Five Points. Organizers Touronimo, a private tour/“experiences” venture, and local promoter Purple 19 say to bring camping chairs, small coolers and tip money for the artists. The music goes from Americana (Chris Garrison), jazz (Josh Couts Duo) and singer/songwriter (Sarah Johnson), to alt-rock (Jayne & The Huntsmen) and pop (Remy Neal). To fuel your fandom, there will be food trucks (Get Loaded, Ice Works, Hippea Camper) at Lewter Park, address 1501 Wellman Ave. N.E., and at the corner of Pratt and England St. This event is free to attend.
