The city of Ames recognized three men for rescuing people from an apartment fire.Body camera footage shows Robert Dean yelling to someone in an upstairs window on Dec. 9. Dean, Nathanial Ward and Obai Elmustafa were able to get everyone out before firefighters arrived. Officials honored the men for their heroic actions during a virtual City Council meeting. The men said they were just at the right place at the right time.
