£2m secured for supply chain and textiles innovation
Industry-led research and development programme Future Fashion Factory has secured £2m in funding for new innovation projects, which include sustainable alternatives to traditional materials and design processes.
The £2m was achieved in three separate funding calls to industry partners. Future Fashion Factory has approved 13 new projects for development following the latest call.
These include a new digital system for 3D-woven fashion design under development by Twelve Oaks Software; a vegan, petroleum and freshwater-free alternative to down or polyester for insulated clothing put forward by SaltyCo; and HydroCotton’s approach to more sustainable cotton production.
