A 24-year-old Newark man was shot in the upper torso as he was walking through the parking lot of New York Fried Chicken in New Castle Saturday afternoon, Delaware State Police said.
The shooting occurred at about 4:30 p.m. and 11 shell casings were found at the scene, police said.
The man, 24, was taken in a private vehicle to the Christiana Medical Center emergency department where staff members notified state police. The man was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
