A city of less than 200,000 people, Turku isnât large by any stretch of the imagination. It makes for an excellent day trip from Helsinki as well as a city break destination in its own right, and you can have all sort of fun wandering around the oldest town in Finland. The perfect day in Turku? Perfection does not exist, but you can have a rather fantastic time here with just 24 hours at your disposal.

The Finns like coffee. That is an understatement, an extreme example of an understatement, as this country drinks more of the good stuff than anywhere else on the planet. Youâre going to drink plenty of it while youâre here, so start off on the right foot by heading to Cafe Art. The cafe is where a number of Finnish barista champions ply their trade and is renowned for its excellent brews, which is some compliment when you take the coffee obsession of the Finns into account.
