MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) â Murfreesboro police said a 21-year-old was killed in a construction accident on Thursday afternoon.
According to police, Nicholas Patrick Oliver was a flagman directing traffic when the driver of a road grader accidentally backed over him. He died at the scene.
The incident took place near Butler Drive around 12:30 p.m.
Police said the construction workers were with Rollins Excavation and were in the process of completing shoulder work. The driver of the road grader was backing up to allow a dump truck to unload gravel and was unaware Oliver was behind him, officers said.
