The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) has stated that there is a more than 99% chance that 2023 will be the warmest year on record globally. The WMO will confirm this in its provisional State of the Global Climate 2023 report, to be released on November 30. The report will be published on the opening day of the UN Climate Change conference (COP28) in Dubai. Last week, the WMO announced that October 2023 was the warmest October on record, with the year-to-date global mean temperature being the highest on record.
