Today is National Arbor Day! The Cookeville Electric Department and the Cookeville Public Works Department teamed up to remove four storm damaged silver maples at Park View’s Little League field. In celebration of Arbor Day CED planted four thornless honey locusts. They will provide shade and they have spectacular spring and fall colors. In addition to being tolerant of a wide variety of soil types as well as drought resistant thornless honey locusts generate negligible leaf litter in the fall. This makes them ideal for the site. Celebrate with us and plant a tree! Remember to always look up to avoid power line interference and call Tennessee One call before you dig.
