From one historic season to another, the WNBA’s 25th season is set to tip-off on May 14th. The league will commemorate the 25th season with a campaign, “Count It” and a distinguishing and purposeful 25th season logo. The WNBA will also celebrate the ways its players have shattered expectations and have stood at the forefront of advancement, inclusion and social change for 25 years.
In the lead up to the season, WNBA.com will break down each team in the league. Up next, the Connecticut Sun.
After a bumpy start to the 2020 season, the Sun found their stride but ultimately fell to the Aces in the semifinals. This offseason was quieter than last for head coach and general manager Curt Miller. However, that doesn’t mean 2021 will be boring for the Sun. This season, fans will finally get to see Jonquel Jones and DeWanna Bonner share the floor, something we’ve been waiting for since February of 2019. Most recently, the Sun named WNBA Champion Jennifer Rizzotti as President of the team. Between new leadership, Jones, and Bonner, there’s a lot to be excited about for the Sun.
