SAN FRANCISCO — After a two-year hiatus, the Pac-12 Rowing Championships will return to Lake Natoma and the Sacramento State Aquatic Center in Gold River, Calif., this Sunday, May 16.
Both of WASHINGTON’s men’s and women’s rowing programs captured Pac-12 titles in each of the past three seasons (2017, 2018, 2019). The Huskies have won two of the past four women’s NCAA championships (2017 and 2019), while CALIFORNIA took the title in the other two years (2016 and 2018). In the teams’ lone head-to-head competition in 2021, the Huskies took first in all but one race.
The Huskies are in top form entering the 2021 Pac-12 Rowing Championships, as the men’s team sits atop the IRCA Heavyweight Varsity Eight rankings, while the women are ranked No. 1 in the Pocock/CRCA Coaches Poll. Washington’s men’s team has not lost a Varsity Eight or second Varsity Eight race in 2021, while the women’s team has lost just one race.
