Two doctors who work at the Veterans Affairs clinic in Monroe are accused of writing each other prescriptions for controlled dangerous substances
Dr. Cynthia Brown Manning, 51, of Monroe and Dr. Barbara Beard, 59, of Mangham, were arrested earlier this week and have already bonded out of Ouachita Correctional Center.
Manning was charged with seven counts of prohibited acts (all schedules), seven counts of prohibited acts Schedule II penalties, and one count of possession of Tramadol, a Schedule IV CDS. Total bail was set at $30,000.
Beard was charged with with eight counts of prohibited acts (all schedules), seven counts of possession of a Schedule II CDS (Hydrocodone). Total bail was set at $20,000.
