2 New Streets in Dangriga
There is some welcome news to report for Dangriga as the Dangriga Town Council, under the leadership of Mayor Robert Mariano, is pushing forward with its street rehabilitation plans for the municipality. Recently, the council signed a contract for the repair of two streets including the one in front of the bus terminal. And now, access was provided for over fifteen families in the Wageirale area with assistance from the Ministry of Infrastructural Development. News Five spoke with Mayor Mariano via phone today.

On the Phone: Robert Mariano, Mayor, Dangriga
“Even before I took over as mayor, I was concerned about the condition of streets in Dangriga. And so when I took over, I have been on a campaign to rehabilitate the different streets in Dangriga Town. As a matter of fact, we opened two new streets as you can see – those streets don’t have names as yet, of course, but it is located in the Wageirale area. And you would notice that there are a lot of houses in that area, but the people didn’t have access for their vehicles to go home or for vehicles to take anything to them; they would have to walk through the bush. And so, myself and the council collaborated with the Ministry of Infrastructural Development and they partnered with us and assist us with equipment to get the work done.”
