Updated Apr 30, 2021;
A man and a woman were arrested early Thursday after Bethlehem police served a search warrant on the 600 block of Atlantic Street and recovered cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash, police Capt. Timothy Cooper said in a news release.
Daniel Ortiz, 24, and Shantika Briley, 36, were charged with conspiracy to possess drugs with the intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance (two counts) and possession of drug paraphernalia, Cooper said.
The drugs recovered were in a “distributable amount”, Cooper said.
Ortiz and Briley were arraigned before District Judge Nancy Matos Gonzalez, who set Ortiz’s bail at $100,000 and Briley’s at $30,000, which was later awarded a 10% option, records show. Their preliminary hearings are tentatively scheduled for May 11 in Matos Gonzalez’s court in South Bethlehem.
