A CONTEST featuring some fantastic performances, fierce competition and a whole range of participants draws to a close today – we of course mean the Sunday National Yessay competition, though we hear there might be some football on too...
We asked our readers to submit 1600-2200 words essays answering a simple question: "Why should Scotland be an independent country?"
The essays are to be targeted at undecided voters, as we look to build up the case for independence ahead of indyref2.
The deadline for submissions is 11.59pm tonight – so get yours in to letters@thenational.scot before then, if you'd like to be in with a shot at the £500 prize!
