Eight-year-old Connie Pollard has beautiful blonde hair – long enough to sit on – but this week the youngster has had her long locks chopped to raise money for a children’s charity.
The Gorse Covert Primary School pupil had 17 inches cut off on Monday and as well as collecting more than £700 for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital she also donated her ponytail to the Little Princess Trust.
Connie, from Birchwood, was born with a tethered spinal cord and was looked after at Alder Hey.
When she decided to have her hair cut she knew she wanted to support their fundraising campaign.
