A charity is set to receive £1,550 to help reduce crime in west Swindon with a poster and social media campaign.
West Swindon Parish Council approved a grant application from Crimestoppers, the organisation best known for passing on information about crime to the police and offering rewards.
The project aims to deter crime in the area’s hotspots, using posters and outdoor banners to raise awareness while setting up a digital campaign on Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram.
At their full meeting, councillors wanted to know how the money would be used in areas of high footfall like the village centres rather than places like Lydiard Park and gardens, which was more appealing.
