The 18-year-old was fined after a school leaving party he had for a few friends got out of control with gate crashers last September.
At the case management hearing at Swindon Magistrates yesterday the district judge dismissed the case against the teenager, now studying for an arts degree in Scotland.
The family say that 'a dark cloud has lifted' and that they are 'hugely relieved that it has all gone away.'
The boy's father Martin told the Gazette and Herald:
"The judge dismissed the case as the police had not followed proper procedure. The judge additionally ordered that our son’s costs be paid.
