A CARLISLE man who has taken on an epic fund-raising challenge has seen his efforts backed by a local solicitors.
Charles Dean is attempting to travel the distance from Land's End to John O'Groats in his wheelchair on Cumbrian Roads.
The Wigton man was paralysed 16 years ago, but recently climbed Dodd Fell and Latrigg with his family. He is now attempting to travel 874 miles - the distance between Britain's most northern and southern points - on local roads.
Part of the fund-raising campaign is a competition for primary school children across Cumbria to design a t-shirt for Mr Deans to wear on the final leg of his journey.
