PEOPLE who have complained about the brightness of Swindon's new LED streetlights have been reassured that help is on the way.
But the facility that allows the council to dim the eco-friendly bulbs around the borough will only be operational once the £6.9m programme is complete.
Householders in Penhill Drive and Kingsdown Road have spoken out about the glare given off at night - with one comparing them to the County Ground floodlights.
Cabinet member for highways Maureen Penney told fellow councillors the lights can be dimmed or turned off – area to area or across the borough – once all 28,000 of them are in place.
