Lake Park Awarded Funding For Improvements to Wastewater Plant

Lake Park, IA (KICD)– The City of Lake Park has been awarded a sizeable amount of money through Community Development Block Grant program make some needed changes to its wastewater system.
City Administrator Marie Matthiesen tells KICD News the five hundred thousand dollar grant will help put a dent in the nearly five million dollar project to ultimately build a new system.
Matthiesen says this project is in the very early stages, but construction is expected to be complete by the middle of 2022.
Lake Park city leaders will also be looking at other grant and funding opportunities as time goes on which may include the State Revolving Fund and Revenue Bonds.
