Seventeen people – nine male and eight female -- died at the Covid unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in 24 hours till 8am today.
Of the deceased, five were Covid-19 positive and the rest died with symptoms, our Rajshahi staff correspondent reports quoting RMCH Director Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani.
Five of the deceased were from Pabna, Four from Rajshahi, three in Natore, two from Kushtia and one each from Chapainawabganj, Naogaon and Bogura.
During 24 hours, 177 samples were tested at RMCH lab through RT-PCR testing and 64 of them came positive while 439 were tested at Rajshahi Medical College lab and 96 of them were Covid-19 positive, Brig Gen Yazdani said.
