A Michigan homeowner just handed over 17 adorable puppies to the Michigan Humane Society. The puppies were part of unexpected litters from the home and were not neglected.
The puppies are currently being cared for by staff at the Mackey Center for Animal Care in Detroit. The Detroit homeowner had been working with the Humane Society for the last few weeks to surrender the puppies.
“These are what we call owner surrender,” Anna Chrisman of the Michigan Humane Society told MLive. “The owner was working closely with us. It was just a case of too many animals in the home and the owner not being able to give the support and care they needed. It was litters that were not planned.”
