Elpida Hatziandreou, 101, originally from Vourla, Asia Minor and resident of Melbourne, celebrated Mother’s Day with her family – children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces.
Three adoring generations of successors surrounded Ms Hatziandreou, celebrating the years of love and care she has shared with them.
Her great-grandson, Lucas, recited a short heartwarming message in French, a language spoken by the great-grandmother after growing up in Lyon, France, where she lived with her mother and sister after the disaster of Asia Minor.
The 101-year-old’s other great-grandchildren Zoe, Isla, Sebastian and Julian played her uplifting music pieces, expressing their love and respect.
