A man with a long history of domestic violence against his former partner is accused of leaving the headless bodies of two calves on Hannegan Road in Bellingham.
Court documents state that Christopher Zander was sentenced to prison in 2014 for charges related to the abuse and violating a no-contact order.
He was released in February and resumed harassing behavior against the Maple Falls woman in early April.
A series of bizarre events culminated with the calves being left on the road near Cowden Gravel early on April 21st.
The woman also reported finding the animals heads on her property in Maple Falls.
