A WEST Cumbrian man has been banned from contacting his former wife for a decade after a court heard that he has subjected her to "constant harassment."
The woman said she feared Gary James Ackerley, 50, who had assaulted her in the past, may do so again as he repeatedly flouts the restraining order which is meant to stop him contacting her, Carlisle Crown Court heard.
He committed his latest offence on February 13, arriving at the woman's home in Bounty Avenue, Maryport.
Despite not having any property at the address, he knocked on the front door and asked for his fishing rods.
