'A big glaring loopholes': Why someone with documented mental health warnings can legally purchase a firearm in Nebraska

In June, OPD arrested 25-year-old Javaris Henderson for allegedly shooting a 69-year-old woman on the Keystone Trail. Sheriff Aaron Hanson said his office legally had to give Henderson a handgun purchase permit the year before, despite Henderson being placed in emergency protective custody five times and threatening to "blow up the FBI" at one point.
