Detailed description is . İstanbul Atatürk Fen Lisesi , İstanbul'un ilk, Türkiye'nin ikinci Fen Lisesi'dir. İstanbul'un Kadıköy ilçesinin Kuyubaşı semtindedir.İstanbul Atatürk Fen Lisesi, 1982 yılında Fen Lisesi Projesi kapsamında dönemin Cumhurbaşkanı Kenan Evren’in isteği doğrultusunda kuruldu. 17. yy.'da V. Murat'a ait bir av köşkünün de yer aldığı 40 dönümlük bir bahçe içinde, Marmara Üniversitesi kampüsüne komşu bir şekilde yer almaktadır. Okul binası daha önceleri İstanbul Atatürk Eğitim Enstitüsü olarak kullanılıyordu. 12 Eylül Darbesi sırasında bina ve arsa garnizon komutanlığı olarak kullanılmıştır.İlk mezunlarını 1985’te veren okul her yıl Milli Eğitim Bakanlığının düzenlediği temel eğitimini bitiren öğrencilerin katıldığı TEOG ile öğrenci almaktadır.Okul MarşıOkulun ilk dönem öğrencilerinden Alper Eğmir ve Osman Teoman Turgut tarafından yazılan, dönemin müzik öğretmeni Muzaffer Kamerli tarafından bestelenen okul marşı şöyledir:Bir kuvvet gibiyiz çağlardan taşan,Kutsal bir emanetin peşinden koşan,Bir güneş ki yükseliyor ufuktan,O güneştir yarınları yaratan.
