Detailed description is Ökumenische Begegnungsstätte mit Cafébetrieb und vielen sozialen Angeboten im Kölner Westend! Anfang der 90er Jahre plante die Wohnungsbaugesellschaft GAG, Sozialwohnungen für ca 1500 weitere Bewohner im Westend zu bauen. Dies war der Impuls für die evangelische Kirchengemeinde Bickendorf, als Gemeinde vor Ort präsent zu sein.. . Im Herbst 1993 wurde der Pastor im Sonderdienst Stefan Schmidtlein für dieses Projekt eingestellt. Er gründete mit einer Gruppe Ehrenamtlicher das ökumenische Kirchencafé Bickolo, das im Spätsommer 1994 die ersten Gäste in einem Ladenlokal des nun fertig gestellten neuen Wohnabschnittes willkommen hieß.. . Ziel war es, eine Begegnungsstätte zu schaffen, die Raum bietet für Nachbarschaftshilfe, Gemeinwesenarbeit, Beratung, kulturelle und spirituelle Angebote oder einfach für eine günstige, leckere Tasse Kaffee mit netten Menschen.. . Seit dem 1.1.2008 ist das Cafe unabhängig und wird vom ökumenischen Trägerverein “Kirchencafe Bickolo e.V.” getragen. Seit Januar 2009 hat das Bickolo mit der Diplom-Sozialpädagogin Gudrun Alles eine neue Leiterin. Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit im Bickolo soll sich in Zukunft noch stärker auf Kinder, Jugendliche und die Arbeit mit Familien beziehen.
