But WHY? . . First, let me tell you a little about myself......I am a child of God; daughter of the One True King. I have been married to my wonderful husband Lafe for 20 years. We have 6 beautiful children and live on 10 acres on the outskirts of Quinter, KS. In 2012, as we were expecting our 5th child, I was so fortunate to sell my salon I had owned and operated for 14 years and start living my dream of being a stay at home Mom!! We have a huge garden, a well stocked pantry, every meal is homemade, I love to bake, cook, crochet, I love to sew and repurpose everything I can, I love to be frugal, I love carin for our 6 children and love watching them in all their activities, I teach religious ed. classes in our parish, I help my husband with his ag related business, we love to boat, camp, go to the lake, and just love to be together, WE ARE SO VERY BLESSED!!. . In June of 2015 my cousin introduced me to essential oils during our family reunion. I was pregnant with our 6th child and trying to live as healthy as my knowledge would allow. She talked very passionately about Young Living, Thieves, Purification and told me how her sister used Lavender essential oil and sweet almond oil as her moisturizer. Now why would someone want to pass over an expensive moisturizer and use something as simple as Lavender and sweet almond oil? . . She went on to tell me that there are so many toxic chemicals in the products we use on our skin, breath in the air, and use in our homes that are taxing on our system, especially our liver. A lot of them have been banned in other countries, but are still allowed in the U.S. This was such an eye opener for me!!. . After hearing her passion for Young Living I felt as if someone had just opened a door to a magical land that I had never known existed........ . I spent the next several days devouring any information I could get my hands on about essential oils. I looked at the products I was using (many were labeled as "natural") and was sickened when I looked up the ingredients to many of them. I felt so deceived when I discovered that these "natural" products contained carcinogens and toxic chemicals that can cause a long list of problems from cancer, to allergies, to liver failure, adrenal fatigue, and on and on........ . I called my cousin within the week and couldn't wait to sign up!! I HAD to get my hands on these oils!!! I HAD to get the chemicals out of my home and replace them with products I know are natural and free from toxic chemicals!!! And if there wasn't a product available, I would make it myself!!! Oh what fun the next month was making all my products!!! I couldn't wait to share my new found love with everyone I knew!!!. . It has been a wonderful, amazing journey!!! I have learned so much about essential oils, Young Living, our bodies, frequency, ORAC scale, chemical constituents, the food we eat, the list goes on and on and on.....I have met some amazing people along the way that share the same passion that I do, to educate ourselves and do what we feel is best for our families, to stay healthy and to have an arsenal of products to bring us back to wellness when disease knocks on our door. . . We have become just that.....we have become healthier......we have become happier......we are seldom ever sick, and if we are, we have just what our bodies need.....straight from the plants that God has created for us to use on our broken journey......He has given the plants to us to use and to make us well.....He has guided man to discover them and has shown him how to harness the life out of them so we can have the most pure oils on the planet.. .
