Detailed description is Yorktown Love In Action Inc. is a non-profit organization 501(c)(3), providing services to people in our local communities. What We Do:. Assist people in our community, who have fallen on difficult times; whether due to an accident, sickness, injury, death in the family, abuse, separation, fire, acts of nature or anything else beyond their control.. . Who Are They:. We call them our 'Families' and our "Friends'. Our "Families" enter in a contract with YLIA, for a specified period of time. YLIA agrees to help them with predetermined material & monetary assistance. Our 'Friends' are those who require assistance with material items, emotional support and possibly life coaching.. . How We Help Them:. We accept material donations of clothing, footwear, baby items, toys, furniture, household goods, appliances, automobiles, etc. First, we help our 'Families' with their material needs, then our 'Friends'. We then sell the donated items at our thrift store and take the proceeds to help pay for our 'Families' medical, utility, insurance bills and mortgages directly. We do not give cash money to our 'Families' or 'Friends'. We also sell New Wigs and Yoga Sandals, to help with other physical and emotional ailments..
