Taking advantage of technology to engage and collaborate with a wider range of people to help them on their fitness journey. Where does one start.... I started this business back in 2005 because I love helping people. In my youth I was bullied, picked on relentlessly just because my background was different, my name was different. As I grew I had low self esteem and even worse confidence in myself and my abilities. This transitioned into a real struggle in school and sport, that is until I started university and began going to personal training. . I lost 17kg initially in 12 months and my life changed, people started to notice me, complimenting me, my workmates commented frequently on the amount of time I used per day between Uni, work and gym. It was at that time I realised I could share my story and help others get the same results in weight loss and confidence. So I got qualified and joined a franchise. with little business experience this seems like the best option to enter the industry. I was wrong, albeit great clients and stories, behind the scenes was a struggling business at the feet of a greedy franchise owner who took all of us for a ride and most of my money leaving me to fend for myself in a lot of ways, all the while with a smile on my face and working with my guys to achieve their goals.. It came time breakaway and this was difficult to say the least. being forced to shut my doors during a session for four days to sort out the legalities of my business moving away from the franchise. At which time the lease sign hit my window and it was time to make a decision, fight, move or close....I chose to fight.. After a month I successfully negotiated a settlement allowing me to stay in my studio and take on a business partner, with a name change and new uniform i was rocking and rolling with my guys again.. 2 years of this proved to be challenging with a business partner who segregated my clients from his and made it a negative experience for some and hard to continue. We decided reluctantly to part ways and a decision I made to leave the industry as a result was difficult. the negative experiences over these years began to out way the good I was doing and I needed a break.. With a change in life focus and profession I am now at a stage where I am wanting to get back and do what I love. Having spoken to many people about their own lives and challenges and talking about fighting for what you want and doing what you love it was time to again practise that mantra. . A light bulb went off when people close to me asked for programs and fitness advice, so i began designing programs and then the obvious questions began... would I do sessions again? at this point in my life and where I am professionally and with my current Army training for my application into the ADF for which I have recently lost 14kg, I could not fulfil these requests at present so the question remained...how could I help others and still get some amazing stories and success for people who wanted it?. I then decided to re-start my business in an online format, offering advise and program development individually or as groups. collaboration via technology to have access to me and the programs I design to allow people to incorporate exercise into their days base don their lifestyle and schedules. I am very excited to be able to again reach out and help others achieve their goals and gain confidence in themselves to take life head on, take risks and achieve their dreams.. . My story isn't one of sadness or sympathy, Yes I had some hurdles and hard times... but I found a way out and achieved more that I thought I could. Built a fantastic life with some super experiences and now a wonderful family. Now I can share that experience and help others with theirs. sometimes all you need is a little confidence and someone to help show you the way, the rest is up to you..
