WBL was formed in 2014 by YBL (Young Business Leaders) a faith based group of men in the Birmingham marketplace who have been impacting the business world for Christ since 1981.
Several years ago, the men began to pray about forming a group to reach women in the marketplace..
In 2013 God began to move, and in 2014 a steering committee was formed.
A series of outreach brunches were hosted to discern the level of interest and desire for a ministry like WBL among the women in the Birmingham workplaces.
Within a few months a large network of women expressed an interest in WBL becoming a reality.
At that point a search for a director for the ministry ensued.
In March 2015, Tommye Lambert began to serving as the first director for WBL.
