Detailed description is The White House Cafe Tradition The White House Cafe was built around 1907 and first owned by Hristos Hodjopulas who moved here from Greece. Later, James Andritsos, Mr. Hodjopulas cousin from Greece, bought the Cafe and kept it open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They served breakfast, plate lunches and Kansas City-style steaks. In the 40s, soldiers being moved by train were served. In the late 40s or early 50s, Mr. Andritsos sold the Cafe to Lum B. and Josephine Ying, from China, who were married in Camden. They served breakfast and plate lunches, specializing in meatloaf, roast beef, chicken fried steaks and hamburgers. . In 1981, Jose sold the Cafe to Ted Bradshaw. It was Ted's daughter, Caroline, who added Mexican food to the menu. In 1982, Bill and Mary Bethea bought the cafe and continued to specialize in Mexican food, while bringing steaks back to the menu. In 1984 Bill and Mary remodeled the old living area upstairs, adding more seating area and a cook station. . The Cafe has had other owners, including Lamar and Vickie Moore (1986), Wayland and Marilyn Harrison (1989), two Magnolia businessmen (1993), Kathy and Holthoff Vickers (1997) and most recently purchased by Tommy Vaughan and Teresa Lampkin in 2000. They have also remodeled adding a middle dinning area with more seating and lounge. In the lounge you are aloud to smoke, have mixed drinks, beer, wine, eat dinner, play pool, listen to the jukebox and also watch sports. . The White Cafe has received numerous awards, including many Arkansas Times Readers' Choice Awards.
