We started just like every other small farm with a backyard flock of Barred Plymonth Rocks.
Since then, we have had several exotic and rare breeds including Black Copper Marans.
All this chicken fun has led us back to the breeds that started it all; American Heritage Breeds.
These are the original backyard flock birds, the birds of our grandparents.
These are the birds they grew up with.
These are the birds that helped feed American families through the Great Depression and beyond, before the Cornish crosses took over the market.
