Detailed description is The WSBA was founded in 1943 by attorneys living and practicing law in the Western Suburbs of Chicago. The organization has expanded greatly since that time and is now a vibrant association of attorneys sharing professional, social, charitable and educational activities. Our membership has grown geographically and ethnically and serves a broad spectrum of legal needs in Cook and DuPage Counties.. . The West Suburban Bar Association has monthly dinner meetings except in July and August. Most meetings are on the second Monday of the month and generally include a one-hour free Continuing Legal Education program on a wide variety of topics, since the WSBA is a certified CLE provider.. . Each year we hold a formal Installation of Officers, a Law Day luncheon featuring a guest speaker of topical importance, a Golf Outing, Judges Night honoring especially the judges of the Third, Fourth and Fifth Districts of Cook County, and in December a gala holiday party.. . In addition to our social gatherings, we promote public service, pro-bono and charitable work, sponsor a scholarship fund, and provide educational speakers to area organizations. Our in-court lawyer program provides attorneys in the Fourth District courthouse 1-2 days a week to accept private criminal cases for immediate consultation and representation..
